Two Memorable Services

LLANSAMLET, Sunday, Jan. 8.

Mr. Evan Roberts continued his mission at Llansamlet to-day, in the morning and evening at Ebenezer Chapel, and in the afternoon at Bethel Congregational Chapel, and the meetings were of a very fine character throughout, there being a crowded attendance at each of the services. People flocked to one chapel before the services were over at the other chapel, and many gave no thought to food, being so absorbed, whilst others might be seen driving hunger away with a sandwich or a few biscuits. Many came from a distance- from all parts of England and Wales. Some women, including one who had come all the way from Bala to the meeting, prayed with great eloquence. One then prayed that she might be able to go back to North Wales with some of the “fire” from South Wales. This was not the first time that a revival had proceeded from South to North

In the course of his remarks Mr. Roberts enjoined upon the people to pray for faith, love, and wisdom- these three were necessary.

It transpired that the agnostics who were the cause of so much commotion at Friday’s meeting were present at the afternoon meeting at Bethel. They, however, abstained from saying or doing anything, and their presence was not known to the great majority of those present.
